To friends and supporters: To ensure the political and professional independence of my film projects I have, on my own initiative, returned all grants from political organizations and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC). The total amount of $9630 given to my film projects to date was refunded in full and no contributions from political organizations will be sought or accepted to fund this film. As of March 16, 2001, the film Jerusalem's High Cost of living, like my other films, is financed from my private money at over 95% of the cost of production. The rest was provided by friends and supporters. This necessary decision has placed an undue financial burden on me given the 6 months I have dedicated for the production of this movie after the Uprising. I hope sales of my films will help defray the cost of past and present film productions.
